Change is: Fast Forwarding the Travel Experience
Delta has unveiled its first- and second-quarter ’08
advertising campaign targeted at New York customers. The
campaign will continue to support the brand essence of “Making
Every Moment Matter” by refreshing the “Change
Is” theme and introducing the concept of “Fast
Forward.”
New Yorkers are always on the go and constantly
thinking ahead to their next steps. Delta offers a product that
provides customers
speed, ease and convenience every step of the way. The new campaign
will communicate the airline’s commitment to “fast
forwarding” the travel experience for frequent business customers,
raising awareness of self-service check-in offerings and encouraging
customers to utilize delta.com instead of online travel agencies.
The campaign also will highlight the airline’s new international
destinations out of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK),
positioning the airport as a global gateway. Delta’s service
to Africa, the Middle East and London’s Heathrow Airport
will be emphasized, as will flights to Eastern Europe and Mexico.

Kiosk, Curb and Online Check in
Delta has made significant technological strides in recent years
in an effort to improve the customer experience and expedite the
travel process, particularly for business travelers. With those goals
in mind, the airline has made the check-in process more convenient
than ever.
Customers with mobile Internet access
may check in for domestic travel using a mobile device, such
as a
PDA or cell phone. To check
in, customers should visit delta.com on a handheld device and download
an electronic boarding pass. Customers may simply scan the electronic
pass on the handheld’s screen at the self-service kiosk,
print a boarding pass and drop any luggage at a Delta baggage drop.
Customers without mobile Internet
access may save time by checking in at delta.com up to 24 hours
before a
flight. And those with
little time to spare before arriving at an airport may take advantage
of one of Delta’s self-service kiosks, which produces a boarding
pass in less than a minute.

Elite customers flying Delta within
the United States are enjoying a dedicated lane at each airport gate
allowing
them priority boarding
anytime during the process – not just when their zone is called.
Delta’s new “Breezeway” lanes recognize elite customers
for their loyalty and give them priority boarding at airports across
Delta’s U.S. network.
Breezeway is available to any First Class,
Business Class, BusinessElite, SkyMiles Silver/Gold/Platinum
Medallions, SkyTeam Elite and SkyTeam
Elite Plus customers. The lanes are marked by special red signage

High-Flying Wine Cellar
Master sommelier, TV host and author Andrea Robinson
is adding her stylish touch to travel with a sophisticated wine program
and a new
in-flight Delta program revealing little-known travel tips from regarded
foodies, called “Local Flavor.”
As Delta continues reinventing the travel
experience for its customers, Robinson is redesigning the airline’s wine list to offer
globe-trotting customers superior selections at 30,000 feet. Robinson’s
selections make their debut in BusinessElite beginning in February,
and will expand to international coach and domestic first and coach
class later in the year.
The new wine choices will complement Delta's
upscale BusinessElite culinary experience, including a personalized
five-course meal
with contemporary offerings by Michelle Bernstein, owner and chef
of the Mediterranean-style, highly acclaimed bistro, Michy’s,
in Miami.
Delta’s new tantalizing BusinessElite
wine menu for February and March includes:
• Wente, Riva Ranch Reserve, Chardonnay
• Haymaker, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
• A-Z Pinot Noir
• Chateau Lacombe Noaillac, Medoc-Bordeaux
• Mionetto, Prosecco Brut
• Duval-LeRoy Brut NV
• Chambers Rosewood Muscat
• Ferreira Dona Antonia Tawny Reserve Porto
Beginning early this year, Robinson will host “wine culture” seminars
for thousands of Delta flight attendants to enhance the personalized
service they provide to Delta customers. The seminars will focus
on how to recommend wines that pair best with certain entrees,
how to present a bottle and how to serve the wine.
Robinson also is helping Delta customers find the very best in
travel, food and wine destinations with a new onboard entertainment
program called “Local Flavor,” featured on transcontinental
U.S. and international flights where Delta on Demand is available.
In the 30-minute segments, Robinson and her husband, John, scour
popular destinations like California’s Napa Valley, Seattle,
Paris and New York to ask recognized foodies what they recommend
as insider favorites for visitors to their area. “Local
Flavor” segments will be refreshed every month.

Delta Rolls Out The Red Carpet
Delta
once again supported independent film as a returning sponsor and Official Airline
of the Sundance Film Festival. The airline rolled
out the red carpet for filmmakers, VIPs and Festival attendees with
the opening of SKY360° by Delta - Park City lounge, a two-story,
stylish sky lodge experience. Throughout the 2008 Festival, SKY360° -
Park City hosted private premiere parties and events. It also served
as the exclusive location for the WireImage Portrait Studio where
filmmakers, cast members and industry executives had their official
Festival portraits taken.
SKY360° by Delta - Park City had a hip lounge feel wrapped in
the ambiance and texture of a warm, rustic lodge. It served as a
quiet refuge from the busy streets of Sundance, offering guests plush
leather seating, wooden banquettes, a fireplace, plasma television
screens and music. Lodge guests could also sit back and relax in
one of Delta’s comfy, all-leather airline seats and sample
Delta on Demand, the airline’s state-of-the-art digital entertainment
system. Delta’s new full-flat bed seating in personal sleeper
suite configuration was also available.
Guests enjoyed a well-stocked bar,
featuring selections from Rande Gerber’s in-flight Midnight Sky cocktail program; food selections
designed by Delta’s culinary partners, chefs Michelle Bernstein
and Todd English; Godiva Hot Cocoa; Wi-Fi; and world-class service
from Delta's renowned flight attendants.
In addition, Delta continued its
support of emerging filmmakers and independent film with Delta’s Fly-In Movies, the airline’s
second annual national film competition where the traveling and
online public view five original short films on delta.com and on
Delta on Demand and vote for their favorite to determine the winner.
Through the second annual contest, managed by Gen Art, the five
finalist filmmakers received a trip to the Sundance Film Festival
to attend a celebration hosted by Delta at SKY360° - Park City
on Jan. 23. Based on Delta viewers’ choice, Vancouver-based
filmmaker Robert Kirbyson received the first prize of $10,000 cash
and a pair of round-trip tickets valid anywhere Delta flies for
his film “Ctrl Z”.

The
Dream Lives On
Delta, the hometown airline of Rev. Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr., kicked off the New Year with a global fundraising
campaign to help make the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial
in Washington, D.C., a reality.
“A Nobel Peace Prize winner and one of the greatest leaders in American
history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. understood the importance of making peaceful
change and joining people of all races and cultures in pursuit of a common good,” said
Richard Anderson, Delta’s chief executive officer. “We ask our customers
to join the people of Delta in donating to the campaign in support of the King
Memorial in Washington, D.C. By doing so, we can all make a difference.”
The $100 million monument is being built
on a four-acre site near the Lincoln Memorial, where Dr. King delivered
his “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. To date, more than
$87 million has been raised for the memorial, which is scheduled to
open in 2009 and marks the first monument to an African American on
the National Mall.
Delta is supporting the fundraising effort in a variety of ways that allow
both customers and employees to contribute to the important Memorial. Donations
can be made online now through Delta’s Force for Global Good at delta.com/mlkfund
where contributions will be received and tracked by the official memorial fund
site. The MLK Jr. National Memorial Account, account number 0991669648 at the
Delta Community Credit Union, was also established to receive contributions.
In addition, all of Delta’s domestic Crown Room Clubs® will accept
donations until Feb. 28. Throughout the month of February, Delta will play
a video about the memorial project on the overhead on-flight entertainment
systems available on board many Delta flights worldwide.
