Huntsville Seminar Showcases Selling to the Israel MOD

One-on-one meetings with MOD
General Ben-Israel delivers keynote

Over 60 participants from 44 defense, aerospace, and homeland security companies participated in the May 15th seminar in Huntsville, Alabama that focused on opportunities to sell products to the Israeli military.  Organized by AICC in partnership with NAITA—the North Alabama International Trade Association—the program featured a keynote address by Maj. General (Res.) Isaac Ben-Israel, chairman of the Israel Space Agency and former head of R&D for the IDF.  His participation was sponsored by Consul General Opher Aviran

Participants received a briefing by key executives of the Israel Ministry of Defense mission in New York on how Israel utilizes Foreign Military Financing of the US government to purchase over $2.5 billion each year from American companies and their companies can get on the qualified vendor list.  Six of the Alabama companies presented their capabilities to the Ministry team, and one-on-one meetings were arranged for 20 of the participating companies to explore these opportunities.  A highlight was the luncheon presentation by Bill Dickerhoff of Boeing in Huntsville who manages the Arrow 2 missile defense joint venture with Israel Aerospace Industries.

The Chamber thanks our corporate sponsors that included GAI, Vector Aerospace, Boeing, IAI, and Vector Hawk Aerospace.  In addition to NAITA, organizational co-sponsors included the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast, Madison County Commission, Israel Economic Mission to the US South, Alabama Aerospace Industry Association, American Israel Educational Institute, Birmingham Jewish Federation, and Jewish Federation of Huntsville and North Alabama.
